You can copy a portion of an image item — or an image from another program — and then stamp, or paste, it as an annotation on the same or other image item.

This feature is useful when you want to create new stamp annotations from items on your PaperPort desktop, or you want to create an annotation from an image that you have created in a different program.

When you paste an image as an annotation, the image appears as an annotation in the upper-left corner of the page so that you can resize and move it to the location you want.

To paste an image from another program

  1. In the program that contains the image, select the image and on the Edit menu, click Copy to copy the image to the Windows Clipboard.

  2. In the Image View window, display the item on which you want to stamp the image.

  3. On the Edit ribbon, choose PaperPort paste as annotation Copying and pasting images as annotations Paste as Annotation.

    The image appears as an annotation in the upper-left corner of the item.

To copy and paste a part of a PaperPort image item

  1. In the Image View window, display the image to view the portion you want to use.

  2. On the Page ribbon, choose  PaperPort select Copying and pasting images as annotations Select Area.
     

  3. Draw a box around the portion you want to use, and then choose PaperPort copy Copying and pasting images as annotations Copy on the Edit ribbon. This copies the image to the Clipboard.
     

  4. In Image View, display the target page you want to paste the image annotation onto.

  5. On the Edit ribbon, choose PaperPort paste as annotation Copying and pasting images as annotations Paste as Annotation.

    The image appears as an annotation in the upper-left corner of the item.

Note

You cannot copy a PaperPort annotation to a document in another program.

Tip

To move an annotation, select the annotation and use the mouse to drag and drop the annotation to the location you want. If you have pasted multiple annotations, you can select them all and move them as a group.
