Drawing lines, arrows and scribbles
To add a line or arrow annotation
You can use the Add Arrow or Line command to draw lines and arrows on a page. This is a convenient way to point to important details or to connect an annotation to an area of a page.

Display the page in the Image View window.

On the Annotation ribbon, choose
Arrow or Line.

In the Annotation Settings group, choose
Line Arrowhead to specify the type of line ending you want: single arrowhead, double arrowhead, or no arrowhead to draw a straight line.
Choose
Color and 
Line Width to specify the appearance of the line or arrow. Your settings will apply to future uses of the Arrow or Line tool. The pointer changes to a cross when you move it over the item.

Drag the cross to draw the line or arrow.

Release the mouse button to drop the line or arrow on the item.
Tips
To change the color, line width, or type of line ending of an existing Arrow or Line annotation, right-click it and use the shortcut menu.
After you place a line or arrow on an image item, you can easily move, rotate, and resize the line or arrow. Select the line or arrow annotation, and then drag and drop it to another location, or drag a handle in any direction to change the line length and orientation.
To add a scribble annotation
You can use the Pencil menu item to draw, underline, circle, or scribble on a page. Scribbles, as a rule, are just irregular freehand drawings to draw attention to an area of an item on a document or report.

Display the image item in the Image View window.

Choose
Pencil and specify Color and Line Width in the Annotation Settings group. Your settings will apply to future uses of the Pencil tool.
The pointer changes to a pencil when you move it over the item.

Drag the pencil to draw, circle, or mark an area on the item.

Release the mouse button to end the freehand line.
Tips
To change the color of a currently selected scribble annotation, right-click the annotation and select Color from the shortcut menu. To change the line width, right-click the annotation and select Line Width from the shortcut menu.
