To convert scanned documents to text
You can convert scanned documents to text by a simple drag and drop of the thumbnail to your word processor program. PaperPort automatically processes your scanned document using PaperPort’s OCR software, launches your word processing program, and loads the scanned text into a document ready for editing.
On the PaperPort desktop, select the image item.
Drag the image item to the text editing program on the Send To bar.
— or —
Click on the PaperPort button, choose Send To, and click the name of the program you want to use to edit the text. PaperPort displays a progress window. When the OCR process is complete, the program you selected starts and displays the text in a new untitled document.
If PaperPort exists on a computer with OmniPage, its OCR services become available and amplify the power of PaperPort. See Using OmniPage with PaperPort. For a detailed list of OCR features in OmniPage, see www.nuance.com.
To convert scanned documents with OmniPage, drag and drop the image item to the OmniPage icon on the Send To bar.
You can also select the item on the desktop, click the right mouse button, and then click Copy Text. The OCR program translates the text and copies it to the Windows Clipboard. Start the program you want to use, and paste the text into a file.
Click a program icon on the Send To bar, or start the program you want to use, and paste the text into a file.
