To find text and annotation content

You can find specific text content within items that have been added to the All-in-One index. You can also find annotation and note text associated with PaperPort Image and PDF files.

  1. Display the item in the Image View window.

  2. On the Edit ribbon, choose PaperPort find Finding text and annotation content Find.

    The Find dialog box appears.

  3. On the All-in-One Search tab, enter the text you want to find.

  4. Select:

  • Content to search the textual content of the item, or

  • Annotations to search note or annotation text (PDF and PaperPort Image items only)

  1. To tune search criteria options, click the Options tab, select the options you want, and then click Find.

PaperPort begins the search process. If you are searching for an annotation and the text is found in an annotation, PaperPort selects the annotation for you in the Image View window.
On the Edit ribbon, choose PaperPort find next Finding text and annotation content Find Next, or press F3 to find the next annotation.

If you are searching for content, PaperPort displays the content dialog box, and the matching criteria is in red. In the dialog box, click the navigating buttons at the top right to go to the next or previous match.

Tip

The ability to find annotation texts is very useful when you have a multi-page item. For example, assume you have a multi-page document and have exceptions to the wording. You can add an annotation at each place where the wording needs to be revised. Then, when you are finished reading the document, you can find the annotations to quickly get to the clauses that need revision.
