About enhancing pages and images
PaperPort provides several buttons you can use to adjust or improve color, grayscale, and black-and-white documents and images.
For example, you can rotate and straighten scanned pages, improve lines in a form, and remove “dirt spots” from a scanned business card or document. In addition, you can lighten an underexposed photograph, adjust color in a color image, sharpen a fuzzy picture, and many more.
Use the following Scanner Enhancement Technology (SET) tools on the Page ribbon in Image View for individual pages or images:
To edit selected areas
Use the following buttons from the SET Area Tools group:
Select Area, Crop, Erase Inside, Erase Outside, Remove Red Eye.
To edit pages
Use the following buttons from the SET Page Tools group:
Auto-Straighten, Straighten, Rotate, Resize.
To edit images
Use the following buttons from the SET Imaging Tools group:
Eraser, Auto-Enhance, Enhance, Sharpen, Improve Lines, Stray Dots, White Point (Set/Reset), Black Point (Set/Reset), Apply WP/BP, Convert Color, Invert Colors.
To edit several items in batch mode

Note
Some operations are available only on items of a particular type, and some are available only when there are no annotations on the items. This means you may need to temporarily remove annotations from an item.
To edit all image items scanned by a scan profile
Select a scan profile on the Scan or Get Photo pane and use the SET panel of the Settings – Scanning Profile dialog box to turn on image enhancement options: Auto-straighten, Auto-orient, Auto-enhance, Erase Edges, Auto-crop and Resize Page. Use the Settings button to change settings.
Tip
Be sure your settings are suitable for all pages you plan to scan with this profile.
You can apply these image enhancement tools to PDF files, but PDF Viewer Plus provides a set of enhancement tools specifically tailored to working with PDF pages. See the PDF Viewer Help.
