Using SET tools for image editing
In the Image View window, the Page ribbon contains the SET tools to edit image items. The ribbon contains these commands:

Select Area. Selects part of an image. |

Rotate. Rotates the item 90 degrees to the right or to the left, or displays it upside down. |

Auto-Straighten. Lets PaperPort analyze and automatically straighten images for you. |
|
Straighten. Aligns the page to a straight line that you draw. |
|
Auto-Enhance. Automatically improves the quality of the image and lets you make additional enhancements. |
|
Enhance. Displays a dialog box in which you can adjust the brightness and contrast, color, tint, and sharpness of an image. |

Remove Red Eye. Removes the red-eye effect that occurs when photographing people or animals in low light or with a flash. This button works only with color images, and should be applied to a selected area. |

Crop. Leaves the selected area and deletes the rest of the image from the page. |
|
Eraser. Erases the area of the image that you draw over with the pointer. |
|
Auto-Erase. Automatically erases areas set for scanned pages. |
|
Remove Stray Dots. Removes stray dots or “speckles“ from a page. This button works only with black-and-white images, such as scanned documents. |

Improve Lines. Darkens lines and connects broken lines in a table or form to appear darker and straighter. This button works only with black-and-white images, such as scanned forms and documents. |

Erase Outside. Removes the edges of the scanned image by setting the border area to white. |
|
Convert Color. Makes a grayscale, halftone or black-and-white picture from a color image, a halftone or black-and-white picture from a grayscale image, or a black-and-white picture from a halftone image. |

Invert Colors. Produces a negative from a black-and-white image. |
|
White Point Set / Reset. Allows you to manually specify the white point for auto-enhancement used in a scan profile, or restore default values. |
|
Black Point Set / Reset. Allows you to manually specify the black point for auto-enhancement used in a scan profile, or restore default values. |
|
Apply BW. Allows you to apply the manually set white and black point values to the current page in Image View. |
|
Resize. Modifies the page sizes based on a scaling factor, as well as its resolution |
Notes
Image editing buttons work only with image items. This means all buttons will be disabled when you view a text document in the Image View window.
In addition, certain image editing operations are not valid for particular item types. To indicate that an operation is not available, PaperPort automatically disables the appropriate button on the Page ribbon
