Adding passwords to PDF files

This feature is available only in PaperPort Professional.

To add an open password to a PDF file

  1. Select a  PDF file.

  2. Right-click and select PDF Security on the shortcut menu.

    — or —
    On the Item ribbon, select PaperPort pdfsecurity Adding passwords to PDF files Apply in the PDF Security group.
     

  3. In the PDF Security dialog box, mark the checkbox Ask for a password before opening the document.

  4. In the text box below, type in the password then click OK.

  5. In the Confirm password dialog box, type in your password again, and click OK.

To add a permissions password to a PDF file

  1. Select a  PDF file.

  2. Right-click, and select PDF Security on the shortcut menu

    — or —
    On the Item ribbon, select PaperPort pdfsecurity Adding passwords to PDF files Apply in the PDF Security group.
     

  3. In the PDF Security dialog box, mark the checkbox Use a permissions password.

  4. In the text box below, type in the password then click OK.

  5. Select the required restrictions. For more details, see PDF Security dialog box.
