Combining items
You can combine all flavors of PDF and image files (including MAX files) into PDF.
Text type files (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel) can only be combined into PDF in PaperPort Professional if their native applications are installed on your computer and they support printing from their shortcut menus in Windows Explorer.
To combine items of different types into a PDF stack

Move all the items to be combined in the same folder.

Select the items in the order you want them in the PDF file.

On the Item ribbon, click the arrow next to Combine Items and choose Into PDF Stack.

Select Combine Items into PDF in the shortcut menu.
The files of different types (both image items and text items) will be converted to PDF format and combined into a stack.
Note
If one or more of the specified files cannot be converted into PDF, a warning message is displayed. Click Details to see a list of these files. The ones capable of PDF conversion will be converted and stacked together.
To combine items of different types into a separate PDF file
This can either be performed by retaining original page sizes of the selected files, or combining four of them into a PDF page.

On the Item ribbon:

click the arrow next to Combine Items,

choose Into Multi-item PDF Pages in the drop-down menu, and then

choose Maintain original sizes.

The files (both image and text items) will be converted to PDF format and saved as a multiple-page PDF file. In the case of small items, more than one may fit on a page.

On the Item ribbon,

click the arrow next to Combine Items,

choose Into Multi-item PDF Pages in the drop-down menu, and then

choose Resize to fit.

The original items will be resized so that four items fit into a PDF page. The target PDF file may contain one or more pages.
To combine items into Thumbnail PDF pages

On the Item ribbon,

click the arrow next to Combine Items, and then

choose Into Thumbnail PDF Page.

The result will look like this:
The program will place as many thumbnails into a PDF page as it can. It creates further PDF pages as required.
