To create a new item
You can create new PaperPort Image (.max) items, as well as other types of items, on the PaperPort desktop.
A new PaperPort Image item is useful, for example, if you want to cut and paste text or graphics from a number of different items and assemble the graphics on one page.
To create a PaperPort Image item
-
Click the PaperPort button, point to New, and then choose PaperPort Image Item.
-
In the New PaperPort Image Item dialog box, you can specify:
-
-
Item name — Enter a name for your new item if you want to change the default name.
-
Color — Select black-and-white, grayscale, or color image.
-
Page Size — Specify a width and height for the image. To change the units of measure, select a different unit from the list. The default measurement unit is inches.
In the Resolution box, specify the image resolution measured in dots per inch ( dpi). The higher the resolution, the sharper the image. However, the higher the resolution, the larger the size of the image file on your computer.
-
-
Click OK.
The new image appears on the PaperPort desktop.
To create other types of items
-
Click the icon of the desired program on the Send To bar.
PaperPort starts the program and opens a new file in that program.
-
Enter the text or information you want in the file.
-
Save and then close the file.
The file appears as an item on the PaperPort desktop. An icon in the lower right corner of the thumbnail identifies the program used to create the item.
