To open items in their source programs

You can choose whether to view an item in the Image View window or to open the item in its source program.

For example, you might want to open and edit a Word document in the Word program, rather than view it in the Image View window.

On the PaperPort desktop

To open an item in its source program, do one of the following:

  • Right-click the item, click Open with… on the shortcut menu and select its source program as the associated program.

  • Drag the item and drop it onto its associated icon on the Send To bar.

  • Double-click the item to open it, if proper settings have been made on the Desktop tab of the PaperPort Options dialog box.

PaperPort will automatically start the source program, and open the item in it.

Tip

To change the target program upon double-click, click on the PaperPort button, choose PaperPort options Opening items in their source programs Options, click the Desktop tab in the PaperPort Options dialog box, and select the desired option for files of the given type.
