PaperPort’s Web Publisher program enables you to create a simple, basic HTML file that contains one or more image or text items.

Drag and drop one or more items to the Web Publisher icon on the PaperPort Send To bar and follow the on-screen steps to create an HTML file ready for viewing as a web page in a web browser.

Using Web Publisher, you can:

  • Create HTML files in which your items are converted to JPEG files or to actual text.

  • Insert your items as thumbnail links, text links, or embed them directly in the web page.

  • Insert the HTML files you create into an existing web page.

  • View your completed HTML files in a web browser or in an HTML editing program.

  • Copy your HTML files to a web server using the FTP option, if you have an existing web site.

Basic steps for using Web Publisher

  1. On the PaperPort Send To bar, right-click the Web Publisher icon, and then click Send To Options.

  2. In the Send To Options dialog box, specify either:

Image to convert image items to JPEG files.

    — or —

Text to convert text items to text-only HTML files using the OCR program listed under Conversion.

By default, the Convert image to text box identifies the PaperPort OCR program. If you have more than one OCR software program, you can choose a different program in the list.

  3. To change any default options, click the Options button. Then, in the Web Publisher Options dialog box, select the options you want, and then click OK.

  4. On the PaperPort desktop, select the items you want to add to your web page, and drag them to the Web Publisher icon on the Send To bar.

A progress bar reports the status of the page creation process.

  5. Follow the steps in the Web Publisher wizard to complete the publishing process.
